Job Overview - Health Educator Coordinator:
We're looking for a motivated Health Educator Coordinator to make a direct impact on the health and well-being of individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Based in Bronx, NY, you'll lead vital health education and support initiatives, working closely with clients and the community to promote better health outcomes.
Location: Bronx, NY
Compensation:Â $31/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Health Educator Coordinator:
Conduct health assessments, develop health-related goals, and assist clients with accessing medical care, medication adherence, daily living activities, and nutritional services.
Monitor clients’ health conditions, ensuring linkage to necessary services and coordinating health and medical services with the Clinical Team.
Provide health education on clinical trial programs and other relevant topics to clients and staff.
Conduct weekly health education groups and organize workshops on HIV/AIDS, representing the organization in public meetings and networking with community-based organizations.
Provide quarterly staff training on current HIV/AIDS issues and infection control, and maintain accurate documentation in clinical charts.
Accompany clients to medical visits, offering relevant education and support.
Qualifications for the Health Educator Coordinator:
BSW, Nursing, or Bachelor's in Science/Health Education/Public Health preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in public health education, planning presentations or workshops, evaluating programs, and/or counseling in communicable diseases, substance abuse, assault, sexual abuse, or family planning.
Direct HIV/AIDS work experience preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
