Job Overview - Float Nurse (LPN):
Step into an essential role as a Float Nurse (LPN) in Brooklyn, NY, providing high-quality care across multiple sites. In this temporary position, you’ll assist with procedures, administer medications, and ensure comprehensive patient care alongside a collaborative team.
Compensation: $38/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Float across multiple sites)
Responsibilities as the Float Nurse (LPN):
Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are ready to be seen by physicians, including assisting with procedures and administering medications and vaccines as prescribed.
Nursing Care: Develop and implement individualized care plans, perform routine screenings, and assist patients with treatments and procedures.
Medication Management: Administer medication therapy, maintain clinical supplies, and conduct audits of medications to ensure compliance.
Patient Education: Provide health counseling and materials to patients, ensuring they understand their care plans and treatment options.
Referral & Follow-up: Manage follow-up appointments, referrals to specialists, and document patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications for the Float Nurse (LPN):
Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Licensure: Active New York State LPN license and certification.
Experience:Â 1+ year in Primary Care, Internal Medicine, or Med/Surg preferred.
Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy, patient care, and medication administration.
Certifications: BCLS, Infection Control, and Child Abuse certificates required.
Other: Bilingual in Spanish or Creole is a plus!
