Job Overview – Family Services Advocate (Hybrid):
Our client in Bronx, NY, is seeking a Family Services Advocate to help parents navigate child welfare processes and access trauma-informed resources to strengthen family dynamics. In this temporary role, you’ll engage with families early on, building skills and connecting them to essential community services.

Compensation: $21/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Hybrid)


Responsibilities as the Family Services Advocate:
  • Family Support: Build trust and support parents in coping with child welfare involvement, assisting them in decision-making and effective communication with case stakeholders.
  • Coordination: Work with case planners to connect families to resources and prepare parents for conferences and court.
  • Skill Building: Guide parents in developing independent problem-solving skills, fostering resilience, and reinforcing strengths through supportive interventions.
  • Advocacy: Promote family success by connecting parents to community resources, facilitating support groups, and accompanying them to court or appointments as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records in the agency database, submit monthly reports, and actively collaborate with the care team to meet the needs of families.
Qualifications for the Family Services Advocate:
  • Education: High school diploma required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Experience in child welfare, foster care, or preventive systems required (parent or caregiver background is valued).
  • Skills: Culturally competent, trauma-informed, with strong communication and organizational skills to engage families facing complex challenges.
  • Technical: Proficient with computers and technology required for documentation and communication.
  • Attributes: Compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated to enhancing family well-being.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of child development, social support systems, and preventive or foster care services.
