Job Overview - Endoscopy Technician:
Join our client in Hamlet, NY, as an Endoscopy Technician. In this temporary role, you will assist Registered Nurses and Physicians in endoscopy procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of the procedure room and compliance with infection control standards.
Compensation: $20/hour
Location: Hamlet, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Responsibilities as the Endoscopy Technician:
Procedure Room: Set up procedure rooms and select proper scopes.
Infection Control: Prepare endoscopy procedure room after each procedure following infection control practices.
Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain endoscopic reprocessing equipment and perform quality assurance procedures.
Sterilization Processes: Manage autoclave processes, including sterilization and spore testing.
Specimen Handling: Handle and transport specimens to the lab, and assist with patient transport to and from procedure rooms.
Qualifications for the Endoscopy Technician:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Technician Program.
Skills: Computer skills, ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Experience: Training in endoscopic equipment cleaning processes, prior experience a plus but not required (on-the-job training available).
