Job Overview - Drug and Alcohol Professional (MSW):
Our healthcare client is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Professional (MSW) in Philadelphia, PA, to make a meaningful impact on clients' substance abuse recovery. This temporary role involves fieldwork across Philadelphia County, providing rehabilitation services, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and educational support for clients and families.

Compensation: $27/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Setting: (Fieldwork across Philadelphia County required)


Responsibilities as the Drug and Alcohol Professional (MSW):
  • Treatment Plans: Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Assessments: Conduct client-centered assessments covering psychiatric history, physical health, substance use, and daily living activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress and treatment activities according to established procedures.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate interventions during crisis situations and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure client safety.
  • Clinical Services: Offer individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing symptom management techniques to aid clients in coping with internal and external stresses.
Qualifications for the Drug and Alcohol Professional (MSW):
  • Education: MSW (Master of Social Work) or a Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Substance Abuse Counseling.
  • Certification: Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) required, with ongoing coursework for re-certification.
  • Skills: Proficiency in building supportive relationships with clients dealing with severe mental illnesses and substance abuse issues.
  • Licensure: Valid driver's license required.
