TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Director of Social Services (LMSW) in Queens, NY for our client, supporting homeless outreach, housing placement, clinical services, and 24/7 program operations. This leadership role oversees multidisciplinary teams serving individuals experiencing homelessness while driving housing outcomes, service quality, and program performance. The ideal candidate brings strong supervisory experience, clinical expertise, and knowledge of homeless services and housing programs.
Responsibilities as the Director of Social Services:
Program Leadership: Oversee 24/7 outreach and housing placement operations while ensuring consistent service delivery and achievement of program goals.
Staff Management: Supervise program leaders, establish accountability measures, support staff development, and maintain appropriate field coverage.
Housing Services: Develop outreach and engagement strategies that connect individuals experiencing homelessness with transitional and permanent housing resources.
Clinical Oversight: Promote evidence-based approaches to client engagement while supporting crisis intervention, risk assessment, and coordination with behavioral health providers.
Performance Management: Monitor housing placements, caseloads, service metrics, contractual requirements, and other program outcomes while implementing improvements as needed.
Community Partnerships: Collaborate with government agencies, healthcare providers, housing organizations, and community stakeholders to coordinate services and resolve complex client needs.
Qualifications for the Director of Social Services:
Education: Master's degree in Social Work is required.
Licensure: Active New York State LMSW license is required, with LCSW licensure preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of supervisory or program leadership experience is required.
Industry Knowledge: Experience with homeless or formerly homeless populations and 24/7 human services programs is strongly preferred, with knowledge of Housing First, harm reduction, crisis intervention, and behavioral health services required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and database systems is required, along with the ability to learn new program technology.
Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, crisis management, organization, and stakeholder management skills are required, with Spanish and English bilingual proficiency preferred.
