Job Overview – Director of Nursing (Outpatient Surgery)
Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Director of Nursing (Outpatient Surgery) in New York, NY for our client, supporting perioperative nursing operations, clinical leadership, and patient care coordination within an outpatient surgical environment. This role focuses on overseeing daily clinical operations across pre-operative, operating room, and post-anesthesia care units while ensuring quality, compliance, and patient safety. The position offers the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced surgical setting with a focus on orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities as the Director of Nursing (Outpatient Surgery):
  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee daily operations across pre-operative, operating room, and post-anesthesia care units to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Staff Management: Supervise nursing and clinical staff while managing scheduling, performance, and staffing levels.
  • Quality Oversight: Monitor patient outcomes and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical performance.
  • Compliance and Infection Control: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and infection prevention practices.
  • Operational Management: Coordinate staffing, resources, and workflows while partnering with physicians and leadership to support efficient operations.

Qualifications for the Director of Nursing (Outpatient Surgery):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State is required.
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of leadership experience in a perioperative or ambulatory surgery setting is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in outpatient surgery center operations and perioperative workflows is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical operations management is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, decision-making ability, and communication skills in a fast-paced clinical environment are required.
