Job Overview - Director of Nursing (DON):
Join our healthcare client in New Jersey, as the Director of Nursing (DON) overseeing the nursing staff's performance and ensuring inmate patient care aligns with professional nursing standards and clinical guidelines.
Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000/year
Location: Mercer County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (35 Hours/Week)
Responsibilities as the Director of Nursing (DON):
Patient Care: Ensure medical evaluations of inmate patients meet NCCHC, NJ 10-A, ACA, and PBNDS standards.
Nursing Leadership: Manage, direct, and develop nursing staff, ensuring effective patient care delivery and staff retention.
Training & Competency: Oversee staff orientation, in-service training, and annual competency assessments.
Collaboration: Work closely with primary care and healthcare providers to ensure continuity and quality of inmate patient care.
Staff Management: Lead regular staff meetings, report to the Health Services Administrator, and align unit goals and policies.
Qualifications for the Director of Nursing (DON):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey required.
Experience: 3+ years as a Director of Nursing or Supervisory Nursing experience (correctional healthcare experience preferred).
Skills: Strong clinical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead in emergency situations.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
