Job Overview – Developmental Disabilities Nurse (RN)
Compensation: $58/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Developmental Disabilities Nurse (RN) in Brooklyn, NY for our client, supporting medical care, case management, and clinical oversight across residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on coordinating care across multiple sites, overseeing documentation, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards. The position offers autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with interdisciplinary teams in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities as the Developmental Disabilities Nurse (RN):
  • Clinical Oversight: Supervise and coordinate medical care for residents across multiple sites.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct health assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Care Coordination: Manage medical services including appointments, lab work, and follow-up care.
  • Medication Management: Lead medication training and support safe administration practices.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Review clinical records to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with staff and clinical teams to support resident health and safety.
Qualifications for the Developmental Disabilities Nurse (RN):
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State is required.
  • Experience: 1–2+ years of clinical experience is required, with experience in residential or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with developmental disabilities, mental health, or long-term care environments is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer applications is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and effective communication skills are required.
