Job Overview – Crisis Counselor (Bilingual)
Compensation: $22.50/hour 
Location: Miami, FL 
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Hybrid)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Crisis Counselor (Bilingual) in Miami, FL for our client, supporting crisis intervention, risk assessment, and referral services in a high-volume call center environment. This role focuses on assisting individuals in crisis through de-escalation, safety assessment, and connection to community resources. The position offers structured training and long-term growth within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities as the Crisis Counselor (Bilingual):
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to inbound calls and provide crisis counseling and suicide intervention using established protocols.
  • Assessment: Evaluate caller needs, identify risk factors, and determine appropriate next steps for care and support.
  • Resource Coordination: Provide referrals to community services and support agencies based on individual needs.
  • De-escalation: Utilize active listening and crisis management techniques to stabilize high-stress situations.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all interactions and maintain detailed records in the system.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.

Qualifications for the Crisis Counselor (Bilingual):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field is required.
  • Language Requirement: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Creole is required.
  • Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in crisis intervention, social services, or behavioral health.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with crisis response protocols, referral services, and community resources is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple systems during calls is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required.
