Job Overview - Corrections Nurse (LPN):
Join our client in Syracuse, NY, as a Corrections Nurse (LPN) for the evening shift. In this role, you’ll deliver critical healthcare to inmate patients, conducting assessments, administering treatments, and maintaining a safe, professional environment.
Compensation: $38 - $40/hour
Location: Syracuse, NY
Schedule: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Evening Shift
Responsibilities as the Corrections Nurse (LPN):
Patient Assessments: Conduct assessments of inmate patients in various settings, including intake areas, chronic care clinics, and during emergencies.
Medication & Treatment: Administer medications and therapeutic treatments as per inmate care plans.
Documentation: Ensure that all medical records follow the SOAP format, are problem-oriented, timed, legible, and signed according to standards.
Compliance: Promote a culture of safety, adhere to professional standards, and follow state, federal, and local requirements, including NCCHC standards.
Reporting: Document reactions to treatments, report changes in inmate conditions, and provide discharge planning and education.
Qualifications for the Corrections Nurse (LPN):
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.
Experience: 1+ year of LPN experience required (Correctional Healthcare experience preferred).
Licensure: Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
Certification:Â Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required.
Skills: Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate, timely records.
