Job Overview - Correctional Registered Nurse (RN):
Our healthcare client in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a Correctional Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care within a correctional facility. In this role, you’ll conduct medical assessments and coordinate treatments to ensure the well-being of inmate patients.
Responsibilities as the Correctional Registered Nurse (RN):
Patient Assessments: Perform medical assessments of inmate patients in various settings, including intake areas, medical units, and during emergencies.
Medication: Administer medication and therapeutic treatments to inmates as required.
Reporting: Document reactions to treatments, changes in the patient's condition, and report necessary updates.
Patient Education: Provide patient education and discharge planning for inmates.
Regulatory Compliance: Uphold HIPAA, PREA regulations, and facility safety protocols.
Qualifications for the Correctional Registered Nurse (RN):
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Licensure:Â New York Registered Nurse license required.
Experience: 1+ year of RN experience required (Correctional Healthcare experience preferred).
Skills: Strong critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal communication skills.
Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Attributes: Empathetic, assertive, independent, and team-oriented with the ability to command respect and uphold facility objectives.
