Job Overview – Correctional Nurse (RN) Night Shift:
Advance your nursing career with our client as a Correctional Nurse (RN) Night Shift in Atlantic County, NJ, providing critical patient care in a secure correctional facility. This role is perfect for a skilled RN with strong assessment abilities and experience in fast-paced healthcare settings. Responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, administering treatments, collaborating with medical teams, and ensuring strict compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
Compensation: $43 – $54/hour
Location: Atlantic County, NJ
Schedule: 3 days/week, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Responsibilities as the Correctional Nurse (RN):
Patient Assessment & Care: Perform health assessments during intake, sick calls, and chronic care clinics.
Treatment & Medication Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and coordinate inmate healthcare.
Emergency & Crisis Response: Provide urgent medical intervention and ensure timely care.
Safety & Infection Control: Adhere to infection prevention protocols and controlled substance regulations.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records per facility guidelines.
Patient Education & Discharge Planning: Educate inmates on health conditions, medications, and post-care instructions.
Qualifications for the Correctional Nurse (RN):
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in New Jersey.
Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in clinical assessments, emergency response, and infection control protocols.
Skills & Attributes: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
