Job Overview – Clinical Supervisor (LMSW)
Compensation: $64,000 – $68,000/year
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Clinical Supervisor (LMSW) in New York, NY for our client, providing clinical leadership and supervision to Case Managers supporting individuals in transitional housing and community-based programs. This in-office role guides service delivery using Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, CPI, and trauma-informed care models while driving documentation quality, staff development, and positive housing stability outcomes.

Responsibilities as the Clinical Supervisor (LMSW):
  • Clinical Supervision & Staff Leadership: Supervise and support a team of Case Managers through structured individual and group supervision, coaching, and performance guidance.
  • Clinical Direction & Program Oversight: Provide clinical leadership by troubleshooting complex cases, strengthening client engagement, and guiding interventions for high-acuity behaviors.
  • Service Planning & Documentation Oversight: Oversee individualized service planning while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of client contact and progress.
  • Crisis Intervention & Care Coordination: Support frontline staff with crisis response, risk assessment, de-escalation, and coordinated service delivery with external providers.
  • Practice & Collaboration: Promote a housing-first culture by leading case conferences and partnering with internal teams to support housing readiness and stability.
Qualifications for the Clinical Supervisor (LMSW):
  • Licensure: Active New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working with related populations, with prior supervisory or administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, behavioral health systems, and crisis intervention practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, with the ability to learn Access-based databases and additional systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership and delegation skills, clear verbal and written communication, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and effectiveness collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
