Job Description

Role Overview:
Join our client’s team at a skilled nursing facility in Middlesex County, NJ, as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In this role, you will provide direct resident care as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that each resident's plan of care is followed.

Compensation: $28.00 / HR
Location: Middlesex County, New Jersey
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential for extension
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Shifts Available:
•    Evening Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 5 x 8-hour shifts, every other weekend required, holiday coverage required
•    Day Shift: Times will vary (e.g., 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 5 x 8-hour shifts, every other weekend required

Responsibilities: 
•    Providing patient care as per the Patient Care Plan, including but not limited to ROM exercises, ambulation, transfer training, assisting with feeding and calorie counts, bed making, personal hygiene, skin checks, AM and HS care, vital signs, answering call bells promptly, post-mortem care, assisting with room changes, and participating in reports
•    Identifying and reporting all real or potential problems regarding the administration of patient care
•    Ensuring residents are wearing/using adaptive equipment as ordered and are clean, neatly dressed, groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shift hours
•    Following through on ordered restorative nursing for assigned patients
•    Completing all required tasks, documentation, and reports daily as per facility policy and state and federal regulations
•    Recording intake, output, and bowel movements, and reporting any unusual changes in patient condition to the nurse promptly
•    Communicating pertinent information and actual or potential problems to the nurse throughout the shift
•    Fostering good relationships and communications with all team members, patients, family/significant others, and visitors

Qualifications:
•    Certified Nurse Assistant with a permanent NJ CNA license
•    Minimum of 2 years of prior experience working as a CNA in an LTC (subacute skilled nursing) setting
•    Willingness to manage care for patients with a variety of conditions, including COVID+ patients (no exceptions)
•    Willingness to float throughout the facility as needed (between vent, rehab, post-op, COVID, etc.)
•    Ability to provide patient care, including but not limited to ROM exercises, ambulation, transfer training, assisting with feeding and calorie counts, bed making, personal hygiene, skin checks, AM and HS care, vital signs, answering call bells promptly, post-mortem care, assisting with room changes, etc.
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Completion of an approved CNA program
•    BLS (AHA) certification
•    Ability to pass a client-issued general competency exam (situational questions) administered by the facility during the first week
