Job Overview – Certified Medical Assistant: Compensation: $23 – $25/hour
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Join our client’s healthcare team in Boston, MA as a Certified Medical Assistant, supporting patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. In this on-site role, you’ll assist with exams and procedures, perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, and manage clinical documentation using EMR systems. Apply your clinical and administrative skills to ensure efficient workflows and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities as the Certified Medical Assistant:
Patient Flow & Room Prep: Escort patients, prepare exam rooms, and coordinate provider schedules for efficient clinical operations.
Clinical Support: Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection under provider direction.
Patient Interaction: Provide high-quality customer service, ensure comfort and safety, and support patients across pediatric to geriatric populations.
Administrative Tasks: Document patient data in EMR, track referrals, process billing codes, and manage prior authorizations.
Inventory & Infection Control: Stock supplies, monitor expiration dates, follow safety protocols, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Coordination & Communication: Facilitate interpreter services, manage provider messages, schedule appointments, and liaise with external care teams.
Qualifications for the Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High school diploma required (completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred).
Certification: Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required.
Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical office or outpatient setting, with demonstrated phlebotomy skills required.
Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software.
Skills & Attributes: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and communication skills, a patient-focused approach, and strict adherence to HIPAA compliance.
