Job Overview - Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant (MA):
Join our client's compassionate team in Philadelphia, PA, as a dedicated Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare to pediatric and adult patients, managing vaccinations, drawing blood, and ensuring accurate vital signs.

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Compensation: $24/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities as the Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant (MA):
  • Patient Pre-Triage: Determine the reason for visits, check vitals (blood pressure, temperature, pulse oximetry, height, weight).
  • Clinical Support: Conduct labs, EKGs, urine dips, pregnancy checks, glucose checks, A1C testing, and urine drug screens.
  • Preparation: Ensure medical supplies are stocked and organized, check refrigerator temperatures, and prepare for the next day.
  • Wound Care and Injections: Provide basic wound care and administer injections upon request.
  • Specimen Management: Deliver specimens, collect and process blood samples if needed.
  • Documentation: Appropriately document all activities in the electronic medical record system.
  • Compliance: Work in compliance with medical policies, OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and funding body regulations.
  • Cross-Coverage: Provide cross-coverage at other health centers as needed.
Qualifications for the Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant (MA):
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Diploma from a medical assistant program preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a medical outpatient office environment.
  • Language: Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize work assignments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably eClinicalWorks.
  • Certification: Complete training in Bloodborne pathogens, Post-exposure prophylaxis, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations within 30 days of hire.
