TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Behavioral Health Social Worker (BSW) in Grand Traverse County, MI for our client, supporting crisis intervention, behavioral health assessments, and community-based mental health services. In this role, you will conduct crisis screenings, complete clinical assessments, and provide brief therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies while coordinating care and maintaining documentation aligned with Medicaid and state behavioral health guidelines.
Responsibilities as the Behavioral Health Social Worker (BSW):
Crisis Assessment & Intervention: Conduct crisis screenings, inpatient assessments, and access evaluations for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises across crisis centers, emergency departments, and community settings.
Clinical Services Delivery: Provide brief solution-focused therapy and crisis stabilization interventions for individuals and groups as appropriate.
Emergency Department Support: Perform inpatient screening assessments for individuals presenting in emergency department settings through in-person or virtual evaluations.
Care Coordination & Referrals: Coordinate services and referrals with healthcare providers, courts, schools, substance use programs, and community agencies to support continuity of care.
Documentation & Compliance: Complete timely documentation of assessments, person-centered plans, and service activities in accordance with Medicaid standards and agency policies.
Qualifications for the Behavioral Health Social Worker (BSW):
Education: Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited university is required.
Licensure: Active licensure in the State of Michigan as a fully licensed behavioral health professional such as LMSW, LPC, or LMFT is required.
Experience: Professional experience providing crisis intervention, behavioral health assessments, or community mental health services is preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of community mental health systems, crisis intervention practices, and relevant state mental health guidelines is preferred.
Technical Skills: Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation tools used in behavioral health environments is preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong communication, crisis management, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
