Job Overview – Behavioral Health Crisis Clinician (LMSW/LPC)
Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000/year + bonus
Location: Grand Traverse County, MI
Schedule: Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Behavioral Health Crisis Clinician (LMSW/LPC) in Grand Traverse County, MI for our client, supporting crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and behavioral health services across community and emergency settings. In this role, you will conduct crisis assessments, provide de-escalation and stabilization support, and coordinate care with community partners and healthcare providers. You will utilize EMR systems and clinical documentation tools to deliver timely, compliant, and patient-centered behavioral health services.

Responsibilities as the Behavioral Health Crisis Clinician (LMSW/LPC):
  • Crisis Assessment & Intervention: Conduct clinical assessments and provide immediate crisis intervention to stabilize individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
  • Mobile Crisis Response: Respond to community-based crisis situations alongside law enforcement and first responders across various settings.
  • Clinical Evaluation & Triage: Perform diagnostic evaluations, determine level of care, and coordinate referrals for appropriate services.
  • Care Coordination & Referrals: Connect individuals to behavioral health services and ensure continuity of care through follow-up support.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate clinical documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications for the Behavioral Health Crisis Clinician (LMSW/LPC):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Licensure: Active or limited licensure in the State of Michigan as an LMSW, LPC, or Psychologist is required, and candidates must maintain licensure in good standing.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience in behavioral health, crisis services, or clinical mental health settings is required, with experience supporting individuals with serious mental illness or developmental disabilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of DSM diagnostic criteria, crisis intervention practices, and community mental health systems is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation platforms is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, communication, and de-escalation skills with the ability to work in high-pressure environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Other Licensure Requirements: Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to respond to community-based crisis calls is required.
