Job Overview – Assistant Program Director (LMSW):
Drive impactful change with our client as an Assistant Program Director (LMSW) in New York, NY. In this in-office leadership role, you will oversee clinical and operational functions for the SOS team, ensuring high-quality outreach, care coordination, and housing stabilization for individuals experiencing homelessness. Partnering with the Program Director, city agencies, hospitals, and service providers, you will help connect vulnerable populations with essential resources and long-term housing solutions.

Compensation: $72,000/year
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Responsibilities as the Assistant Program Director (LMSW):
  • Program Leadership: Support SOS team in delivering high-quality outreach and case management for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Outreach & Engagement: Conduct outreach in transit systems, hospitals, and community spaces using strength-based strategies.
  • Cross-Agency Collaboration: Partner with outreach teams, law enforcement, hospitals, and social services to identify high-need individuals.
  • Housing Coordination: Assist with housing applications, work with SOR Hub to secure placements, and support participants through move-in.
  • Crisis Intervention & Counseling: Provide short-term counseling, crisis support, and referrals before and after housing placement.
  • Data & Compliance: Track participant progress, manage program data, and ensure accurate documentation of services.
Qualifications for the Assistant Program Director (LMSW):
  • Education: Licensed Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing, or Psychology required.
  • Experience: Experience working with homeless and precariously housed populations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Interest in leadership with expertise in NYC homeless services, crisis intervention, and community-based treatment programs.
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer proficiency in health information technology systems and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-Solving & Reporting: Ability to assess client needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and prepare accurate, timely reports.
