Job Overview - ACT Family Specialist:
Join our dynamic team as an ACT Family Specialist in New York, NY! Make a real difference in the lives of individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. You will provide comprehensive, evidence-based services, focusing on community outreach and personalized support to promote recovery and stability.

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $60,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities of the ACT Family Specialist Include:
  • Community Outreach: Provide at least 80% of treatment contacts in the community, including leading groups when clinically indicated.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in daily team meetings to discuss clients’ clinical and case management needs.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete required documentation for NYS OMH, DOHMH, Medicaid billing guidelines, and internal policies. Complete required documentation and toxicology tests for clients with active Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) orders.
  • Client Support: Collaborate with clients' support networks and other service providers on treatment planning, service coordination, and case management. Provide clinical services that are anti-racist, gender-responsive, culturally humble, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, client-centered, and evidence-based.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on-call services on a rotating basis.
Qualifications of the ACT Family Specialist Include:
  • MHC-LP, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, with current New York State license.
  • Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment models for substance use and mental illness.
  • Experience with individuals involved in the criminal legal system preferred.
  • Strong organizational and self-motivation skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
