Job Overview – Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities):
Compensation: $55 – $60/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (On-Site)
Our healthcare client is hiring a Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities) in Bronx, NY. The RN will provide direct nursing care, conduct evaluations, and implement therapeutic interventions for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Key responsibilities include coordinating treatment plans, administering and managing medications, ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, and supervising nursing staff. This position is ideal for an RN with a BSN and proven experience in adult and developmental disability services.
Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities):
Healthcare Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Medication & Disease Management: Administer prescribed medications, supervise certified staff, and identify, assess, and manage communicable diseases with appropriate safety protocols.
Medical Arrangements: Schedule and coordinate medical appointments, issue referrals, and ensure timely follow-up for comprehensive care.
Staff Training & Supervision: Conduct training on medical procedures, infection control, first aid, and medication administration while mentoring LPNs and junior RNs.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and ensure adherence to all regulatory and clinical standards.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities):
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Licensure: Valid New York State Registered Nurse license and current registration required.
Certification: Current CPR certification required.
Experience: 1+ years of nursing experience, with prior exposure to developmental disabilities, residential services, or community health settings strongly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with medical equipment and adaptive devices used by individuals with developmental disabilities.
Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to confidentiality, adaptability, and patient-centered care.
